The Council at Saint Thomas Lutheran Church would like to extend our thanks and sincere gratitude to Pastor Howard E. Claycombe, Jr. for being with us during our time of Pastoral Vacancy and serving as our Pastor.
This is a prayer from Saint Francis of Assisi and comes to us from our Interim Pastor, Reverend Howard E. Claycombe, Jr. It is a prayer that we should recite often during the year and follow its advice:
Where there is hatred, let me so love;
Where there is injury, pardon;
Where there is doubt, faith;
Where there is despair, hope;
Where there is darkness, light;
Where there is sadness, joy;
O Divine Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console;
To be understood as to understand;
To be loved as to love;
It is in the pardoning that we are pardoned;
It is in the dying that we are born to eternal life.
-St. Francis of Assisi

At Saint Thomas, our Mission Statement in part states, “We exist as a church to call persons into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, our Savior. Our message is Bible-centered and is focused on sharing God’s love and purpose for our lives. To that end we direct all our activity and service as a congregation.” On behalf of the Saint Thomas Lutheran Church Council, let me invite you to contact me at (732)792-3133 or email me at saint.thomas.lutheran@att.net or any of our other Church Council members if you would like to help us in this work. One easy way to help us at Saint Thomas is to tell your friends about us and encourage them to tell their friends about us! And tell everyone to visit us here at saintthomaslutheranchurch.org- Jim Dowdell, President, Saint Thomas Lutheran Church Council

ALTAR CARE ASSISTANTS
We need members to help set up and clear the communion table each Sunday and other special holy days. This is a task that takes about 20 minutes to perform. Currently there are only a few who work at this task. If we can find two or three more individuals they would only have to be involved in the process every 5 or 6 weeks. See Erika Hoffmann on Sunday after Service or call us at (732) 252-9550 if you can help. Thank you.
