Founded in 1964, Saint Thomas’
congregation grew rapidly from a handful of faithful members
worshiping in each other’s homes and in local schools and grew as more
became regular worshipers. Very shortly after forming the first
congregation, plans were developed to build a church where the faithful
could come to worship, hold social events and grow in the Lord’s
service.
In 1970, as a result of the energy
and generosity of the founding members and the local community,
construction began on the new Saint Thomas Lutheran Church. With the church
building’s dedication in January 1971, the dreams of the congregation
were realized. Saint Thomas Lutheran Church became the congregation’s
place of worship and the home of a Christian Nursery School.
